The Antisycophants Blog gets it right: "Stephen Colbert made history at the White House Correspondents Association's dinner [last week] by satirizing like never done before facing a sitting US President." The blog also offers a Colbert Compendium, including the videos of fame and a good overview of reactions.
I was stunned by Colbert's confident statesman-like delivery and his perfectly balanced humour: His jokes were ironically twisted but never reached a level of sophistication that would have made it hard for Bush to grasp them. A remarkable appearance indeed, and one may wonder: Hasn't the time come for a comedian to become president?
