Steve Jobs is not the only one. With Michael Dell stepping back into the CEO role at Dell, the New York Times promptly reported “Second Acts in the Executive Suite” as a broader trend.
You can find a similar trend in the soccer arena, where the number of capable coaches, at least in the German Bundesliga, seems limited: Ottmar Hitzfeld, the “grande dame” of German soccer, returned to his long-time stomping grounds at the Saebener Strasse, to Bayern Munich.
In Spain’s Primera Division, Samuel Eto’o joined the squad for Barcelona’s game in Osasuna, after a five-month-break caused by a knee injury.
Oh, and I want to come back to Buenos Aires where I spent one of my many honeymoons (with the same wife) last November (when Bush’s twin daughters were there, reportedly having at least one run-in with the BA authorities). With delight, but also some regret, I read that Palermo Soho was (once again) written up in the Sunday Times – including my favorite café, Bar 6, with its wooden ceilings, great magazines, and the lavish yoghurt (or as the locals say “zhogurt”). I guess it’s no longer an insider tip now.
Finally, someone who will soon need to make a comeback: San Francisco’s mayor Gavin Newsom violated a basic pinciple of good PR: Never have an affair with your campaign manager’s wife.
